Dr. Shi Cheng (IEEE Senior Member) has been with Huawei Stockholm Research Center, Stockholm, Sweden, since 2016, where he is currently an RF Technology Expert and the Director of RF Laboratory. Apart from his primary affiliation in industry, he has been working first as a part-time researcher and then an Affiliated Faculty at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, since April 2013. Dr. Cheng received the B.E. degree in Radio Engineering in 2003 from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2006, and the Ph.D degree in Microwave Technology in 2010 from Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden. From 2010 to 2011, he was with Laird Technologies, Stockholm, Sweden. Between 2011 and 2016, he was with Ericsson, Stockholm, Sweden, as a Research Engineer engaged in the R&D of digital radio algorithms for multi-standard radios.
His research interests include RF system technologies for radio base stations, reconfigurable RF front ends, millimeter-wave and terahertz systems and phased-array antennas, wireless sensors, and large-area elastic RF electronics. Dr. Cheng has authored and co-authored more than 60 scientific papers in various journals and international conferences, and is the inventor of 7 international and Swedish patents. His research outcomes have been widely highlighted in more than 20 popular science magazines and media. Moreover, he serves as a regular reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. In addition, He has received a number of international and national awards, including the Outstanding Chinese Oversea Graduate Student Award from the Chinese Government in 2009, and the Recognized Foreign Scholar Award for the Excellence of Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the Swedish Government in 2011, presented by the Minister for Trade of Sweden.
